I bought this from Amazon as I needed a lightweight tower to reach a radio aerial, and I cannot stand heights or use ladders. First of all it arrived the next day. I went out to help the delivery guy, but he told me that there was no need - he was carrying the whole thing in one hand (but it a bit too heavy for me). So, good delivery and it certainly is light, and easy to store. All the necessary parts were present and the instructions were fairly clear. If you set aside my own vertigo, I had very few problems. I lashed the top to the aerial backets, so I did not buy the outriggers (which are sold separately as well as with the complete kit under a separate listing on Amazon). I got the work done, and I intend to use it for quite a few household jobs and tree lopping, though I will not need the full height other than for this one job from time to time. I think that you have to accept that this is a DIY product, and it does not try to be the same as commercial scaffolding you would see on a building site. Nor did I want it to be too fancy, it needs to pack away easily too. So it is probably heavy enough for domestic use and I appreciate the ease with which I put it together and take it apart. First time I got a few bits back to front, but what do you expect first time out? The red and blue braces are fairly light, fine for the job, but you wouldn't want to lean too heavily on them. They are not meant for that purpose. It is easy to carry the bits and then wheel about on the castors. I can tilt it upright on my own, and it is handy to do some of the assembly with it tilted over. I can also stand a metre up above the base to work on the assembly, which is handy. You could assemble it completely from the ground, but tilting it makes it easier. It lacks adjustable feet, but I guess that it due to the price being within a DIY budget. You can set it askew, with one side lower than the other to allow for steps, but then it is uneven at the top too (if that matters). I might order the outrigger steadies at some stage. You would need them if working at full height away from something you could lash the top to. The outriggers are not cheap, which was why I decided to give it a try first without them. As it is, I thought it was safe to work from, once I got over my own issues about the height. It does wobble a bit, but so do ladders. I was not carrying heavy items up onto the stage, which might be a problem, but it would certainly handle the weight of paint tins and light tools, plus a portly middle aged gentleman. I am happy with my purchase. It is a wee bit on the flimsy side, but then it brings a very useful item within my budget, so I guess theat must be value for money.

Delivered promptly and efficiently after I ordered it , at a good price. As mentioned by others the paint on the coloured bracing bars do chip easily and they were showing a lot of chips and scratches upon opening - to be honest they would probably be like this after a couple of uses so it didn't bother me that much but it suggests careless handling at the packing stages - one of the wing nuts was damaged but a few spares had been thoughtfully included so this was not a problem. The tower itself is a really good piece of equipment - apart from the instructions being under one of the platforms it is easy to assemble by yourself after the first go.I also used the pictures from the flyer a lot but it would be nice to have an IKEA type booklet to refer to?It is very light and easy to move around single handedly - it breaks down into a manageable size and I stored it neatly down the side of a shed. You can also use as much or as little of its potential as you want, making it great for full on house painting or just reaching a low gutter. Once up it is sturdy and feels much more solid and robust than it looks - if you attach the outriggers it feels amazingly secure.I've started to sand down the eaves from the tower which I always hated doing from a ladder - I think that this tower will repay the money spent in no time as I had quotes almost twice the cost of the tower for repainting the eaves etc. As with all equipment 'think safety' is vital and take care when using , but I won't go up the ladder again after using this!

I was dubious about buying this (the 7m tower) as there were no reviews on which to judge it. But I took the plunge (not from the top of the tower) and I am glad that I did. The tower takes some time to assemble, especially when you haven't done it before, but it is fairly simple. One problem is that the assembly instructions are on the base of the platforms - not on a separate instruction sheet - but I managed. The important thing is the quality of the tower. It is light, but it is also sturdy, particularly with the outriggers in place. At full height there was negligible movement. It can be moved/repositioned with relative ease - the outriggers need to be removed or adjusted - and platform heights can be altered without any great difficulty. The platforms are narrow, but perfectly adequate for most DIY jobs and are easy to access via the trapdoors. The 7m tower comes in three height sections, so, if you need a smaller tower, no problem, you only need to assemble part of the structure. As far as storage goes, the sections are small enough to store in a garage, workroom or shed, and are light and easily transportable. The main structure is aluminium - so no rust worries. However, the struts that hold the thing together are painted steel - I don't see this as a problem but I will overpaint any chips or flaking at regular intervals to deter rust. I would also recommend oiling the nuts and bolts for the same reason. All in all a great value purchase. Obviously it is not industrial quality but for DIY purposes it is great and beats hanging off a ladder for those high-level jobs.
