The extra length of the socket, means that where, over tightened fence clips, that can't be reached with a normal scaff spanner, can be reached with these.

This socket is very well made and strong. The deep socket is of great use if you are working with scaffolding clips on tubing that is smaller than standard 48.3mm/1.5” diameter. The socket includes a centre retaining pin for impact drivers that have that fitting. The pin is retained by a silicon ring in a groove so that it doesn’t vibrate out in use. This facilitates quick changing also. In use, the socket is snug on standard scaffold clips and works well. Pros 👍: ✔️ Good deep socket for overlong clip threads ✔️ retaining pin design to prevent loss ✔️ Good and strong ✔️ Good value Cons👎: ❌ None In Summary, a good strong workhorse of a socket that works great and should last well

Review of Adam 21mm Metric Deep Scaffolding Impact Socket 1/2" Drive. Ordered this socket as interested to find how a scaffolders socket differed from a usual 21mm long reach socket. It would appear from the item received there is no difference, the socket supplied is a US Pro 21mm long reach socket, a 3 x 25mm steel pin is added to fit through the two holes drilled opposite each other at the top of the socket used to accommodate the usual sprung ball retainer, this pin then held in place by an additional large rubber “O” ring positioned in the top groove. So this item a basic long reach 21mm socket with a pin and “O” ring, all supplied separately on many websites, the pin apparently to fit a hog ring impact gun without a ball retainer, the pin fits through a hole drilled in the impact driver shaft, the pin used as a safety device retained by the “O” ring, this against loss of socket from impact driver shaft when working at height. The scaffolding impact socket received can be used as a normal socket as it is one, this then retained by normal sprung ball retainer on a ratchet however a top groove type socket needs to be used for scaffolding construction at height for safety purposes, this similar to the one supplied on this order.
